Your dog only wants to please you and if you give him positive reinforcement, he will carry on to do what you want and he will do whatever you ask of him. He will be pleased to make you happy and you will be happy when your training just gets easier and easier.

To be able to use positive reinforcement you should praise and reward your puppy when he does something right and give him little or no notice at all when he does something derogatory. Yelling or reprimanding him when he does something wrong will only end up confusing him and it will not help your training efforts.

Always attempt to keep your dog training sessions short enough so that you are both still having fun. Some dogs learn sooner than others and you will need to accept and respect your dogs own character and personality in order to the get the best results with training. If you respect him and keep it fun, your dog will try harder to satisfy you and you will be more prone to have the relationship you want.

So as to circumvent boredom, it is advised that you have a schedule for either walks and exercise or a play session. This can help your dog avoid the boredom that can lead to negative behavior.
