Before you could proceed with the dog obedience training, you need to drive out all the myths about it. I have compiled a list of myths that you MUST drive out of your mind.

I have made a list of few such myths that requires your attention and a different perspective. Training schools may have strict and rigid rules that sometimes may not be good for your dog or his training experience. Below is a list of few such things:

* Older dogs are not ideal for training. Truth: I personally have observed that older dogs are easy to obedience train as they have developed body, their mind is developed and fully nourished to learn new things. They could understand things better.

* Don’t train unless it’s 4 months old: It is said that you should only train the dog if its age is 4 months or more. Truth: You can start giving him training lessons from its very first day in your house. Don’t pressurize the dog but just start giving him small training lessons.

* Discipline is required to train the dog: Discipline would surely give you a trained dog but this dog would live his life in fear. Don’t think that the dog will do whatever you say happily if it’s been trained in a much disciplined schedules. Dog will only obey you due to the fear.

Consider such small things and see your dog growing as an obedient dog that not only obeys to what his master tells but love him as well.
